Heath is a former police officer who transitioned into national security before becoming a first-time author - something he’s still very much figuring out. Drawing on his life and professional experience, he brings a grounded, pragmatic perspective to his fantasy writing, often sprinkled with Tarantino-style grit and 80s/90s action movie energy.

 

He is also an avid metalhead—though he grew up on punk and classic rock—and enjoys just about all music, with the notable exception of jam bands and Dave Matthews. A fantasy nerd at heart, he plays and DM’s multiple Dungeons & Dragons campaigns (which his wife insists was not disclosed before they were married). When he’s not working his real job, he’s usually writing—whether he should be or not—or spending time reading, drawing, golfing, and being with his wife, daughters, and their two dogs.
